year one

We celebrate our first wedding anniversary tomorrow.  We are going to take the train down to London and do this or this in the afternoon.  Then go to The River CafĂ© for dinner - where I hear it is a must to indulge in each course.

Year one has flown by.  I'm so grateful and lucky to be married to my best friend - who would probably insist we be permanent vagabonds if I didn't have a taste for the good life.

I had fun browsing our wedding photos today picking out a few to share.  Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the mama's.  xo

Our ceremony and reception were held at King Family Vineyards.  Photography by Christophile Konstas.  More photos from our day.

wadenhoe and cambridge

Last Sunday we took Keghley to our favorite local village pub, The King's Head in Wadenhoe which also happens to be the village I work in.  We had pints in the garden on the River Nene and watched the house boats cruise by.

After lunch we went to Cambridge for the afternoon.  The parks were filled with students barbecuing and drinking.  Being American, it was a strange sight to watch a couple of cops just monitor hundreds of people partake in two activities that are illegal to do in most public parks in the states.  It was fun to people watch and take in the afternoon park gathers (and feel like the old people crashing the party).

It was so so special to have a friend visit us, have a familiar face to toast with, and show around our countryside life.  Thank you for the Jameson fresh from Dublin Keghley, xo.

brooklands museum auto italia and london

We headed down to Surrey on Saturday morning.  My Uncle Ashley is a member of Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation.  He invited us along to Italian car day at the museum where he was able to show off his Ferrari along side hundreds of Ferrari's and other unique Italian cars.  (OLD FIATS!)

We walked the rows and rows of cars eyeing the Ferrari cars of many years and models, and had fun playing "which one would you pick to own? ... Okay, you can have two...." (I had strange draw to both the late 1950's and 1980's makes.)

We met several of my uncle's Ferrari car club friends, had lunch in the Art Deco Members' bar, stood in awe beneath a Concorde jet, and took way too many photos of old Fiats.  We saw cars that are  quite rare and worth way more than cars should ever be worth.

After Brooklands Italian car day Marco, Keghley and I hopped on the train and headed to London for the afternoon.  A windy but sunny spring day, we did some sights, lots of pubbing, and then met up with a few different friends in Notting Hill.
