Oh hello.
I never intended to take such a long hiatus from this space. I have missed it. Where did I leave off? We took a trip to Sardinia in June - I was 3 months pregnant. While I was excited to share the news with our friends that we were on holiday with, I was not so excited to sit out the whole where-wine-flows-like-water type of vacation. But it was still one of my favorite trips to date.
SO! Fast forward a few months give or take. We had a little girl, Simone Maeve Valentina, just before Christmas. I worked at the pub and Land Rover Experience until a few weeks before she arrived. In those few weeks I told myself everyday, "I gotta get a few blog posts done before babe arrives." But instead I slept until 10:00 am, drank coffee, hung out with my bulldog, browsed social media, and watched Friends until 2:00 pm. And then I'd go on a long run or do things like clean every corner of the cottage down to the inside of the washer and dryer. (That nesting thing is REAL.) I relished in the meeeee time.
We are starting to wrangle this parenting thing, loving it, and overall just getting to know the little rascal.
I have a backlog of photos and stories to still tell, pre-Simone. A long weekend up to Scotland, a day in Bath and The Cotswolds, a rowdy trip to Oktoberfest in Munich, a week visit to Paris and Normandy to see our friends Ian and Mélanie, and lastly, another trip to Belgium.
So, I plan to get on with it shortly. Please send long nap vibes my way, friends.
