paris part one

The cold and drizzle didn't stop us from having a great weekend in Paris.  The apartment we rented was in an excellent location, newly refurbished and with a view of the Eiffel Tower.  We highly suggest the neighborhood we stayed in, Le Marais, with its excellent shops, restaurants, and ... FALAFEL!

It was nice to induldge in some shopping and eating.  My first and only other time to Paris was with my friend Lindsey and the other two Bly sisters.  I was a student studying in Sevilla at the time and indulging while in Paris meant dinner at McDonald's because it was the cheapest place to get dinner + beer.

The apartment and the views.

We spent Friday roaming the city.  We went to E. Dehillerin - a beautiful restaurant supply store, ate cheese and chewy baguette in the park by the Eiffel Tower and browsed pastry, cheese, garden, and home decor shops.

I wanted to move into this store pictured below.  We have been looking for an industrial desk lamp for the cottage.  This shop had plenty - plenty out of our price range.

After walking all day we went back to the apartment to drink all of the Nespresso, eat my "birthday cake", and find a dinner spot.  (I always thought those pastries in the window were just pretty but didn't taste great - so SO wrong.)

More photos from our weekend coming up tomorrow.  (and hopefully a few more with Marco in them?!)
