paris part three

So, remember this

Well, once we realized we were going to be in Paris the same weekend as team Cognac we got in touch with Ian.  We weren't going to make the same mistake twice, though Marco was tempted to do the whole SURPRISE bit again.

Saturday afternoon we took the metro to Ian's game which happened to be at France's Olympic training facilities.

But first we, OF COURSE, took a pit stop on the way and had some falafel in Le Marais.

It was so exciting to walk into the arena and see Ian and his teammates warming up.  Marco and Ian have known each other since middle school, attended the same high school, and even college (duuuuukes).  Ian gave us a quick wink as we took our seats.  It was SO great to see him play professionally.  The team's videographer even gave us some interview air time.

I'll spare you the Dick Vitale commentary, but Cognac won the game and Ian came away with 19 points.

After the game we headed to the fancy Le Bon Marche department store and food market.

See you in May, Ian!  Get the Cognac tour van ready.

Now scroll to see Gandalf and the hobbits below.

Good birthday weekend!
